Probing Deconfined Quantum Criticality Point on a Digital Quantum Computer
Researchers used a digital quantum computer to study a transition between two competing ordered phases—a z-polarized ferromagnet and a valence-bond solid—which is theoretically forbidden by Landau theory. The hardware successfully resolved both phases, and the crossing of their order parameters accurately located the transition point, matching noiseless simulations.
