EPRV Asteroseismology of the K dwarfs GJ 570 A and GJ 783 A with ESPRESSO. Empirical mode-amplitude scaling in tension with 3D convection simulations

Researchers used high-precision radial velocity measurements from ESPRESSO to study solar-like oscillations in two K dwarfs, GJ 570 A and GJ 783 A. They found an empirical scaling of oscillation amplitudes that changes from a shallow ~ (L/M)0.7 relationship to a steep ~ (L/M)1.5 relationship near the G/K-dwarf boundary, which is not predicted by current 3D convection simulations.
