ABLEIST: Intersectional Disability Bias in LLM-Generated Hiring Scenarios
The study audited six LLMs across 2,820 hiring scenarios involving diverse profiles to find subtle ableism and intersectional harms. Researchers introduced ABLEIST metrics, revealing significant increases in ableist harms for disabled candidates and amplified intersectional harms when disability overlapped with gender and caste. This highlights critical blind spots in current safety tools.
