Testing Extra-Dimensional Gravitational-Wave Polarizations with Compact-Binary Observations

Researchers tested if extra-dimensional spacetime geometry could cause extra gravitational wave polarizations using five compact-binary events from LIGO and Virgo. The analysis found no evidence for these extra polarizations, concluding that geometric projection constraints are stronger than propagation tilt in constraining the allowed geometric misalignment.
