Fold-transversal surface code cultivation
This work introduces a new method for preparing magic states in surface codes called Magic State Cultivation (MSC). The scheme uses fold-transversal gates and unitary techniques to grow the code efficiently. It achieves the lowest known spacetime overhead for this process, suggesting a more practical way to generate high-fidelity non-Clifford resources for universal quantum computation.
