A superconducting qutrit link beyond the qubit limit

Researchers demonstrated a superconducting microwave link using transmons as qutrits to achieve deterministic state transfer and remote entanglement beyond qubit limits. By dynamically tuning frequency matching and employing transition-selective photon primitives, they achieved high fidelity (83.68%) and information capacity (2.273 bits), surpassing classical bounds.
