Rapid mixing of quantum spin chains at any finite temperature
The research developed a method to prove that quantum spin chains mix rapidly to thermal equilibrium at any finite temperature using quasi-local dynamics. By employing the Quantum Wasserstein distance ($ ext{W}_1$), they showed exponential contraction, proving mixing time is polylogarithmic in system size ($O(\log n / \varepsilon)$). This also enabled the creation of efficient quantum algorithms to prepare the target Gibbs state.
