Central stellar depletion in the Draco dwarf from Subaru photometry

The study used deep Subaru photometry of the Draco dwarf galaxy to search for central stellar depletion caused by dark matter subhalo interactions. By analyzing radial corrugations and a low-frequency peak in Fourier space, researchers found a central stellar depletion region surrounded by a ring-like excess. This suggests that central stellar depletion in dwarf galaxies might reflect genuine physical structure rather than just observational crowding.
