Debiasing Local Cluster Infall Reveals: Application to the Virgo Cluster

The study tested common models for measuring the Hubble constant ($H_0$) using galaxy recession velocities around massive clusters, specifically focusing on the Virgo Cluster. They found that standard fitting functions systematically underestimate $H_0$. By using realistic simulations (IllustrisTNG halos), they developed a simulation-based method to infer $H_0$ and applied it to Virgo distance data, yielding corrected values of 81.6 and 87.3 km s$^{-1}$ Mpc$^{-1}$. This framework helps interpret cluster infall measurements.
