A robust super-time-stepping scheme for Ohmic and ambipolar diffusion
A new Runge-Kutta-Gegenbauer (RKG) super-time-stepping scheme was developed to explicitly integrate non-ideal MHD equations involving Ohmic and ambipolar diffusion. This method enhances robustness against strong diffusion and boundary errors, offering excellent stability for strongly diffusive regimes where traditional explicit methods fail, leading to more accurate simulations of astrophysical plasmas.
