Scalable LEO Conjunction Screening using Adaptive Synthetic-Covariance Thresholds
The method replaces a single fixed altitude threshold for conjunction screening with object-specific thresholds derived from propagated radial uncertainty. This adaptive sieve tightens screening for well-characterized objects and widens it for uncertain ones, significantly reducing the number of candidate pairs to be analyzed. The efficiency is maintained using a binary-search altitude sweep.
