Domain-wall circulation gating and pinning via compositional engineering of cylindrical nanowires

The study investigated how chemical modulations in cylindrical nanowires can control domain wall (DW) motion and circulation. Chemical modulations act as pinning sites due to shared curling, but their effect on propagation depends on the DW's circulation sense. Opposite circulations force a change in circulation, acting as a polarizing device, allowing for on-demand switching of the DW's internal state.
