Study of quantum turbulence by vortex-antivortex dynamics in dipolar BECs

This study investigated vortex nucleation and dynamics in dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates stirred by a rotating Gaussian obstacle using two different stirring protocols. Both methods resulted in local triangular ordering with clear dipolar signatures, such as elliptical distortion of vortex cores. Crucially, the mixed vortex-antivortex population remained stable up to 100 ms, indicating that dipolar interactions strongly suppress vortex decay.
