Fortuity and fragility in supersymmetric SYK
In N=2 supersymmetric SYK models, BPS states are often 'fortuitous,' meaning they only exist for a finite range of system size N. The paper introduces a decoder to measure exact uplift and its cost, calling the failure or increasing cost of uplift 'metric fragility.' This fragility relates to the chaotic nature of BPS sectors in generic models versus exactly solvable ones.
