Emergent SSH physics and localization in a cavity--atom system beyond the rotating-wave approximation

The study models a cavity-atom system using an effective two-level atom coupled to a resonator, mapped onto an excitation-number lattice. It reveals that in the large photon regime, this lattice forms an SSH structure with Wannier–Stark localization. In the small photon regime, strong hopping inhomogeneity leads to deterministic turning-point localization and state-dependent transport.
