For Coding Agents, the Repository Matters
The study investigated integration friction across over 930,000 agent-authored pull requests to determine if this friction belongs to individual agents or the repository. Findings showed that repository-level friction is roughly twice as concentrated in agent-authored code as in human code. This suggests governance and measurement should shift from individual agents to the entire software ecosystem for effective management of AI-native software.
