The Einstein Gap: an unrecognised strong lensing feature in weak lensing mass density profiles

Researchers investigated a signal drop in magnification profiles at intermediate angular scales, called the Einstein Gap. They combined satellite galaxy distribution data with gravitational lensing simulations to explain this anomaly, ruling out simple statistical issues or mass absences. The study concludes this gap is a genuine physical effect caused by strong lensing from massive central galaxies.
