The conditional colour-magnitude distribution: III. A study of galaxy colour- and luminosity-dependent counts-in-cells statistics

The conditional colour–magnitude distribution (CCMD) model connects galaxy properties like colour and luminosity to dark matter halo mass. It was tested by comparing its predictions against counts-in-cells statistics from SDSS data. While the model fits most measurements, it struggles with certain small cells, highlighting complex environmental and halo occupation effects relevant to galaxy assembly bias.
