Electronic structure and two-orbital model of the quadlayer La 5 Ni 4 O 13
The study used DFT and RPA to investigate electronic properties of quadlayer La5Ni4O13 under different strains. It found that 4% c-axis uniaxial strain creates a new $\gamma$ hole pocket near the M point by shifting the $dz^2$-derived band upward. This strain-induced transition is identified as a more effective route to superconductivity than hydrostatic pressure.
