Eight New Ultramassive Black Hole Masses confirm Best Correlation with Galaxy Core Sizes
Researchers analyzed 16 Brightest Cluster Galaxies (BCGs) to find better predictors of supermassive black hole (SMBH) mass than the traditional MBH-sigma relation at high masses. They found that galaxy core size serves as a much more accurate, unbiased predictor of SMBH mass in this regime, confirming scaling relations for ultra-massive black holes.
