Anomalous Thermal Conductivity Reversal Driven by a Fluctuating Charge Density Wave

Researchers studied thermal conductivity in 2H-TaSe2 and found a striking V-shaped temperature dependence: a peak near 122 K, a dip around 210 K, and an unexpected rise above 350 K. This reversal suggests that fluctuating charge order persists far above the main transition temperature, controlling heat transport rather than just the long-range ordered state.
