Sonifying I2S Transport Signals to Detect Transmission Faults
The research proposes a sonification design using Audification to detect faults in I2S signals, which lack built-in error checking. By oversampling, the design renders protocol structure and data across stereo channels. Evaluation showed that while oversampling changes feature values systematically, it doesn't significantly improve fault class separation alone. However, combining structural and payload information across channels offers modest but consistent improvements in separating different error types.
