CATAPULT: A CUDA-Accelerated Timestepper for Alpha Particles Using Local Tricubics
CATAPULT is a GPU-accelerated timestepper for Monte Carlo simulations of alpha particle confinement in stellarators. It uses CUDA to significantly speed up calculations compared to CPU methods. The method estimates particle locations by sampling initial conditions and computing an approximation, allowing for faster and more accurate tracing of particles within complex magnetic fields.
