Efficient LLM-Generated Shuttling Compilers for Complex Trapped-Ion Architectures

This research shows that unmodified Large Language Models (LLMs) can autonomously generate complete Python source code for shuttling compilers for trapped-ion quantum computers from simple written instructions. The resulting compilers are verified and have achieved significant performance improvements, drastically cutting development time and demonstrating LLMs as powerful algorithmic engineers.
