Towards Physical Underwater Robotic Assistance for Scuba Diver Movement in Confined Spaces
RADMCS is a wearable robot that helps scuba divers maintain safe distances from underwater structures by providing physical haptic feedback through thrusters. It uses depth estimation and force feedback to guide the diver, allowing them to navigate confined spaces like caves or coral reefs without needing complex suits. Testing showed low thrust levels effectively guided movement.
