Volume Dependence of Helicity-based Eruption Diagnostics in Recurrent Coronal Jets
Researchers simulated recurrent solar coronal jets to understand magnetic energy release. They found that current-carrying helicity ($H_J$) decreases during jets and recovers between them, unlike free magnetic energy. Crucially, normalizing $H_J$ by the square of the closed magnetic flux ($\Phi_{\mathrm{closed}}^2$) showed consistent peak behavior across different simulation volumes, suggesting it is a reliable diagnostic for eruption conditions.
