Multi-Criteria Routing for Cryptographic Key Exchange in QKD Networks: Survey, Taxonomy, and a Conceptual Optimization Framework
This survey analyzes 26 routing strategies for cryptographic key exchange in QKD networks from 2013 to 2024 across terrestrial, satellite, and hybrid infrastructures. It shows that dynamic, key-aware algorithms improve service rates by up to 40%. Multi-path strategies enhance security against trusted node compromise but increase key consumption. SDN orchestration is crucial for managing these complex hybrid networks.
