On the Nonlinear Dependence of Underground Muon Rate on Atmospheric Temperature Observed at Daya Bay
The study addressed a nonlinear relationship between underground muon rates and atmospheric temperature observed at Daya Bay. By developing an improved solution to cascade equations that accounts for the entire temperature profile, researchers found that when using new definitions based on functional derivatives, the muon rate recovers a linear dependence on atmospheric temperature.
