X-ray point sources towards the giant radio lobes of Centaurus A

The study analyzed X-ray point sources over Centaurus A's giant radio lobes to check if they exceeded expected background populations. Accounting for selection effects and foreground stars, no significant excess of point sources was found above $6.9 imes 10^{36}$ erg/s in the lobe footprint, meaning resolved sources do not contaminate diffuse emission measurements.
