Phase-Drift Limits and Adaptive Quadrature Readout in Programmable Photonic Processors
The study investigates how sequential versus simultaneous measurement of optical phases affects programmable photonic processors. It analyzes phase-drift penalties when reading quadratures one after another, proposing adaptive ordering rules that improve performance by 84.9% over fixed-order methods, and deriving increment-aware estimators to reduce estimation errors.
