Design optimization of flux concentrators for magnetic tunnel junctions-based sensors

The study optimizes flux concentrator (FC) design for magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) sensors to balance high magnetic gain and low noise. By modeling FC gain using finite elements and an analytical formula, the research found that increasing the number of junctions along the gap length is more effective than increasing width for improving detectivity. The optimal design yields a 3-order-of-magnitude performance boost.
