Magnon Kerr Effect in a Magnetic Thin Film Strongly Coupled to a Microwave Resonator

The study investigated how a magnon Kerr effect occurs in an anisotropic iron garnet thin film coupled to a microwave resonator. They found that this effect is significantly enhanced by the film's shape anisotropy compared to spherical magnets. Crucially, they demonstrated continuous control over the magnitude and sign of this nonlinear frequency shift simply by changing the static orientation of the magnetization, proving it a powerful tool for tuning magnonic systems.
