Cryogenic shock exfoliation for ultrahigh mobility rhombohedral graphite nanoelectronics
Researchers developed 'cryogenic shock exfoliation' to produce large-area rhombohedral graphene flakes with high yields and uniformity, overcoming a materials bottleneck. By combining this with a low-pressure van der Waals assembly technique, they created devices exceeding 1300 $\mu m^2$ with 90% yield. Characterization confirmed uniform spin magnetism and demonstrated ultrahigh quality transport regimes.
