Intralayer antiferromagnetism in two-dimensional van der Waals magnet Fe 3 GeTe 2

The study investigated magnetic ordering in Fe3GeTe2, a 2D magnet, finding evidence of both intralayer antiferromagnetic coupling and interlayer ferromagnetic coupling. Experimental magnetization data showed temperature-dependent anomalies suggesting competing phases. Theoretical calculations confirmed exchange couplings ($J_1$ and $J_2$) that support the observed magnetic transitions around 160 K.
