Timing Sensitivity in Actuated Traffic Signal Control: A simulation study on one urban network
This study compared adaptive and fixed-time traffic signals across 240 simulation runs on a Tel Aviv network. It tested various timing settings, including maximum green multipliers and fixed plans, to see how sensitive performance is to these changes. The findings suggest that performance is highly dependent on the specific controller family used before attributing success to a particular setting.
