Size-Dependent High-Order Harmonic Generation from Linear Carbon-Chain Molecules in Linearly Polarized Laser Fields
The study investigated how increasing the length of linear carbon-chain molecules (C2H2 to C10H2) affects high-order harmonic generation (HHG) when driven by an 800 nm laser. Results show longer chains significantly boost harmonic yield and extend the cutoff region, primarily due to larger electron acceleration distances and more frequent multi-center recollision near terminal atoms. This suggests molecular size engineering can optimize attosecond light sources.
