Interior contacts in a narrow quantum Hall bar: a two-dimensional self-consistent screening calculation of the current distribution
This study used a self-consistent calculation to map electron density and current distribution inside a quantum Hall bar using ohmic contacts. It found three transport regimes as the magnetic field is lowered: connected, floating in an incompressible bulk, or isolated by rings. This reveals how the bulk's compressibility determines whether interior contacts carry current.
