Spectral Costs of Multinomial and Residual Resampling in High-Dimensional Particle Ensembles: A Free-Probability Analysis
The study classifies resampling methods by their count-law limits and connects them to spectral maps to find exact consequences for high-dimensional particle ensembles. It shows that while standard ESS determines one part of the limiting distribution, it doesn't determine the full spectral shape. This framework allows for ordering different resampling schemes.
