Non-Perturbative Vibrational Excitation by Arbitrary Electric Fields from Classical Phase-Space Dynamics

This framework uses classical phase-space dynamics to exactly treat how molecules vibrate when driven by arbitrary electric fields, going beyond simple perturbative methods. It shows that vibrational excitation is governed by a complex phase-space coordinate, $|z_t|^2$, which dictates the resulting vibrational populations (Poisson distribution). The method remains accurate even in strong fields where standard theories fail.
