From Axion Detection to Dark Matter Astronomy
This work combines interferometric phase, spatial coherence, and spectroscopy to study axion substructure by measuring flow directions and velocity distributions. The method allows for testing axion production scenarios by jointly measuring longitudinal and transverse velocity dispersions in tidal streams. This provides a concrete astronomical task for global detector networks to measure the dynamical structure of dark matter flows through the Solar System.
