Contrasting - and K-Valley Moir'e Physics in Twisted Monolayer/Bilayer WSe 2
The study investigates twisted WSe2 to see how controlling displacement fields can create moiré physics in both K and $\Gamma$ valleys. It found that at filling $\nu=1$, the K-valley is a weak insulator, while the $\Gamma$-valley shows signs of a Mott transition. At $\nu=1/3$, the K-valley forms a Wigner crystal, contrasting with the $\Gamma$-valley's behavior near crystallization boundaries.
