Semantic Matching of Behavioral Primitives for MUD-Based IoT Device Identification
The research investigates identifying IoT devices using Manufacturer Usage Description (MUD) profiles by focusing on semantic matching of behavioral primitives rather than just exact matches. By converting communication rules into compact text and using advanced embedding models, the study shows that semantic ACE matching provides stronger identification evidence during runtime when traffic behavior deviates from standard profiles.
