PlacePulse: Learning Transferable Place Representations from Structural Geographic Data
PlacePulse creates a structural geospatial foundation model that compresses 572 attributes into compact, unit-norm embeddings for millions of H3 cells. Trained only on structural data, it learns transferable geographic representations by balancing cell features with neighborhood context. This representation proves useful for predicting various real-world targets better than baseline models.
