Evaluating Mesh Reconstruction Methods for Crop Phenotyping
This study evaluated seven different 3D reconstruction pipelines for digitizing agricultural crops to improve phenotyping. The results show that the GGGS pipeline is superior, followed by 2DGS, PGSR, and Alicevision. Quantitatively, GGGS outperformed the second-best method (2DGS) across five metrics. Qualitatively, GGGS produced visually pleasing meshes with fewer artifacts than other methods.
