An Energetic Consistency Test for Feedback-Driven Gas Loss in Milky Way Dwarf Satellites
The study tested whether dwarf galaxies have enough cumulative energy from supernovae to overcome their gas binding energy, defining an 'energy-equivalence time' ($ au_E$). While all nine analyzed galaxies reached this energetic threshold, star formation often continued long after the threshold was crossed. This suggests that reaching the required energy is not sufficient on its own to cause permanent quenching.
