Characteristic function-based tests for spatial randomness
A new test for complete spatial randomness is introduced using characteristic functions and a weighted L2-distance between empirical and uniform characteristic functions. This test connects to Ripley's K-function and Zimmerman's w2 statistic, offering a simple, edge-effect-free method that performs well in simulations across various spatial patterns.
