Planet forming disk populations and their connection to the environment

ALMA2040 will provide unprecedented sensitivity to study planet-forming disks across larger distances, moving from studying a few disks to mapping the entire population distribution. This allows scientists to understand how disk masses change based on different stellar cluster environments, revealing how environmental factors like radiation and density shape planet formation.
