Dissipation-Sensitivity Trade-Off in Dissipative Bosonic Systems
The authors discovered a universal trade-off: to maintain a quantum state more sensitive than a thermal one in a driven bosonic system, energy dissipation is required. They established that the entropy production rate must be greater than or equal to one-quarter of the difference between the actual quantum Fisher information and its thermal reference value, depending on whether they are sensing displacement, rotation, or squeezing.
