Tracing small-scale structure formation through cosmic time with strong gravitational lensing: A case for a next-generation sub-millimetre/millimetre interferometer

A next-generation 255-element sub-mm/mm interferometer is proposed to detect gravitational perturbations caused by low-mass dark matter haloes and wandering black holes in strongly lensed dusty star-forming galaxies. Simulations show this instrument can probe objects down to at least $10^5$ M$_{\odot}$, offering a census of these critical structures across cosmic time.
