Topological Superradiant Universality Classes in Cavity-Mediated Spin Chains

The research identifies a new type of superradiant criticality in light-matter systems that is topologically distinct from known transitions. Using cavity-mediated cluster-Ising chains, they found that this critical line possesses robust symmetry-protected edge degeneracies, which are unique to this class. This distinction arises because the two superradiant transitions cannot be smoothly connected without breaking symmetries.
